In a tweet Friday, Peel Regional Police said the incident occurred in the Erin Mills Parkway and Fowler Drive area at around 5:15 p.m.
Speaking at a press conference Friday evening, Peel Regional Police Const. Heather Cannon said the two-year-old boy fell from the balcony and landed on the ground.
She said the child was taken to a children’s trauma centre with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Cannon said it was not immediately clear if the child is a resident of the building, or how he fell from the balcony.
